Update---Kind Of

So some of you have been giving me greif for not updating this more often. I, unlike some of you, don't have much of a life (yet) therefore don't have much to tell people :) Anyway.... I'll make a list of some of the new things that are going on :)

*I am still working with all of the sheep, got through the lambing season and ended up with over 100 lambs. I now have ~170 animals all together, I should be able to start selling the mom sheep the first part of June and will just have to take care of the lambs for the rest of the year (~80 animals). Thank God for my husband!! He is amazing and I would be screwed with this project if he wasn't around to help so much (needless to say he hates sheep and never wants to look at another one once this is over!).

* I am approximately 32 weeks along with the pregnancy and things are going well. I have been having contractions for the last 2 weeks about every 15-20 minutes all day long. The Dr. doesn't seem too worried and tells me to continue doing my everyday things. Ryder is moving like crazy, never sleeps and already has more energy than I know what to do with.... Whats he going to be like when he actually gets here!?! The plan still sits that I will be induced on July 10th if everything is looking good. Dr even said yesterday that I only have to hang on for about another 5 weeks and then we can go anytime if the contractions continue. This may seem like the longest stretch out of the whole 9 months. I am scared to death!! Not so much of the labor and delivery part, but of actually having a baby to take care of!! I take care of animals not kids!! I don't know what the heck I'm doing!!! AHHHH.....

* We have FINALLY finished painting Ryder's room. It took over 2 months to do but I am so excited about it. We are still missing a few pieces to the whole decorating scheme but hope to have those this week sometime. Here are a few of the pics from the process, like I said its still not all the way done so I will post new pics when I get it all the way done.

* And last thing I can think of for now.. I had a baby shower in Logan last weekend with some of my friends from around here. My awesome neighbors Cassie and Sera threw if to me! It was a lot of fun and I got some cute stuff. I think my shower in Richfield will be June 20th!! Here are a few pics.

What a Week!!!

Last week was probably one of the craziest weeks I've had in such a long time!! It started last Saturday when my friend Tyge called me and asked if I had heard the news about Micah (his on and off girlfriend for the last 5 years). I told him no and he proceeded to tell me that she and her sister Shilo were in a massive wreck by Spanish Fork on their way home from Ephriam and both of them had died in it. Talk about a major shock. I wasn't super close with Micah but have known her for the last 5 years and hung out on numerous occasions with her and Tyge. It is crazy how such a tragedy can happen so fast, I don't have kids YET but can't even imagine the pain the family is still going through to lose 2 daughters at the same time! From the time I spent with Micah I can tell you that her personality and love for everything definately made this world a better place while she was here and her and her sister will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to know them.

The week then turned into dealing with a sick dog. My 3 year old heeler X Dodge started vomiting on Wednesday and wouldn't eat any food including scrabled eggs, ham, chicken broth, which is very unusual considering he has NEVER missed a meal in his entire life and could eat us out of house and home if we let him. We knew something had to be wrong so on our way to our Dr. appointment Jeff and I dropped him off at the vet. They checked him over and found that the back of his throat was very irritated and had a possible infection so they sent me home with antibiotics and anti-inflamatories and told me to keep an eye on him and bring him back the next day if he was still vomiting. Well the next day he was still vomiting and acting even more sick than the day before. So I took him back and they took x-rays to see if they could see anything stuck in his intestines that he might have eaten that he wasn't supposed to and bloodwork to see if there was anything going on weird there. X-rays came back normal from what they could tell and bloodwork showed a few problems occuring from dehydration. The put an IV catheter in him and sent him home with IV fluids for me to give him throughout the night. Well once again we woke up on Friday with a puking/very sick dog. Let me say here that when this whole this started I thought immediately that he had a foreign body (something stuck in his intestines) and that it was going to be a costly vet visit. Well after $350 worth of procedures over the past 2 days the next step was to do a barium study which is where they give him a fluid that shows the intestines really well on x-rays, well sure enough 2 hours into the study the barium hit a road block in his small intestine! It was golf ball sized object and this meant immediate surgery to remove it. While all this is going on I am frantically cleaning my house because my sisters, neice and mother are all on their way up to our house for the weekend. So between complete melt downs worrying about Dodge I had to keep cleaning. For those of you that don't know me well, my animals are my children and I would do anything for them and I was SO worried!! Anyway Dodge went into surgery and after he was waking up I got a call from the vet saying everything went really well and it was a fuzzy ball cat toy that they removed from his small intestine! Today is day 3 post surgery and he seems to be doing a ton better and almost back to his normal hyper self. $1500 later, I now own the most expensive cat toy ever (not that I kept it... after seeing it, it went straight to the garbage). UGH!!!

Dodge

The week ended on a good note with a fun visit from my family and my adorable niece Haydon. I haven't seen her in 6 months and she has grown so much and has such a cute personality. I have never seen a happier baby in my life! She absolutely adored Jeff and would just stare at him and touch his face everytime he was around! So cute!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

So found out today we are having a boy! We are way excited. I kinda thought all along that it was a boy but its nice to finally be able to call "nudgie" a he! We have picked Ryder for his name but can't decide on the rest of the name. Its either going to be Jeffrey Ryder Hansen and he will go by Ryder or its going to be Ryder Manton Hansen. Manton is my Grandpa's middle name and my Great Grandpa's middle name. I think we
are kind of leaning towards Jeffrey Ryder but who knows!! Anyway we are way stoked about being parents!! Our due date is July 17th but we will probably induce a week earlier so hopefully on the 10th!!

Baby Sheep

So... yeah nothing too exciting going on in my life to tell you all about! But two days ago we discovered that 6 of my research sheep had been bred before I got them and were about ready to lamb. The area I have all my animals now is not good for lambing so we moved these 6 into a facility where they could lamb out of the snow and mud. Anyway.... yesterday 2 of the girls both had a set of twins, unfortunately one passed away shortly after birth, but I now have 3 cute little lambs running around! Even though I can't use these animals for my research project anymore they are very cute and I am hoping I can find a good home for the little ones this spring when they are a little bigger. I have about 70 more "girls" that are supposed to lamb in April so altough I will have over 100 little guys running around this spring, these first 3 are exciting and very adorable! I took some pics of them tonight but it was dark, I will take more tomorrow when they are up running around.
